At Qualify, your safety and wellbeing are our top priority. We are here to ensure you feel safe, respected, and listened to.
Rights are rules that protect you and ensure you are treated fairly and with respect. Everyone has rights, including children, and these rights are there to keep you safe, healthy, and happy.
Here are some important things you should know about your rights:
• You have the right to be safe: No one is allowed to hurt you physically, emotionally, or in any other way.
• You have the right to speak up: If something makes you feel uncomfortable, scared, or unsafe, you have the right to tell someone you trust.
• You have the right to be involved in decisions that affect you. We will listen to your thoughts and feelings.
• You have the right to ask questions about your safety, and we will answer them honestly and clearly.
• You have the right to be respected no matter who you are, where you come from, or how different you may feel.
If something happens that makes you feel unsafe or uncomfortable, it’s really important that you speak up. You can talk to an adult you trust—this could be a teacher, a coach, or a staff member at Qualify. We are all here to listen and help.
• You can speak to any of our staff or volunteers if you feel unsafe.
• You can also report any concerns to our Child Safety Officer, who will listen to you and take action to help.
• We will always take your concerns seriously and make sure your complaint is handled in a way that is safe and fair for you.
If you don’t feel comfortable telling someone within the organization, or if you think your concerns aren’t being taken seriously, you can contact an external service for help.
